Ground Protection Requirements
The management team at Ardmore Studious required additional parking facilities to cope with an increase in film and television productions at their location. Having identified a green space on the compound as their preferred area for the temporary car park, Ardmore Studios contacted Ground Protection Ireland.
The Solution
Following a series of free on-site consultations, during which several products were trialled, a Ground Protection Ireland project manager recommended the HDPE plastic Ground Mats as the ideal access system for the project.
Ground Mats are excellent for protecting soft ground and grass and provide a reliable support-base for vehicles, people and small to medium-sized plant. The 1.22 x 2.44m Ground Mats weigh just 39kg, and they can be quickly laid by hand – as a single pathway or two parallel tracks – and bolted together using unique pedestrian-friendly connectors.
The Result
The Ground Protection Ireland expert installation crew needed just one day to get the job done. They first blanketed the entire area with a membrane to prevent weed growth, then laid more than 200 Ground Mats to create a neat, safe and easily accessed temporary overflow car park.
